Season 2018/2019 Proposals (Updated 07/05/18)

(Andy Thomas 09/05/2018)
Most recent changes = Removed comments on playing up with League permission only, whilst we await clarification from County FA. Minor updates throughout - added date of AGM

As outlined in the recent league meeting we are looking at new age groups for next season. These groupings will include some single age banding.

The proposed age bandings are:

U9’s (Eligible players: school year 3 & 4) format: 5 a side

U10's (Eligible players: school year 5 & 4 ) format: 7-a-side.

U11's (Eligible players: school year 6 & 5) format: 7-a-side

U12's (Eligible players: school year 7 & 6) format: 9-a-side

U14s (Eligible players: school year 8 & 9) format: 11-a-side

U16s (Eligible players: school year 10 & 11) format: 11-a-side

Clubs should of advised the league by now on the on the intentions form for next season if they have a preference for:

U9's - weekly (single match) or fortnightly (two matches) fixtures ?
U10's - weekly (single match) or fortnightly (two matches) fixtures ?
U11's - weekly (single match) or fortnightly (two matches) fixtures ?
U12's - weekly (single match) or fortnightly (two matches) fixtures ?

The length of these matches is also yet to be determined.

Depending on number of Teams/Divisions and how frequently the small sided age groups play, the league may have to schedule matches from 9.15am until at least 3pm.

U10s may play longer games than U9s but this is still to be decided , we note the comments from some for this to be so.

A vote on the proposals will take pace at the AGM on Tuesday June 12th.

In the meantime we'll update this article as and when.
